Guitar/bass

This video demonstrates the notes that make up the KEY of Bb major in first position. This is the key that the tune is in. All of the notes that we are going to play in our basslines will generally come from these notes.

This video is an introduction to the 3 basic chords that we will be using to play the tune. These chords are based on shapes that are commonly used on the guitar. Try listening to the recording of the rhythm section below to hear what the guitar is doing (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1s1DSpBj9E)

Theory/Improv

This video describes the "key" that the tune is in, and the three basic chords that come from it. These chords make up the "harmony" of the tune and are what we will play to support the "melody".

This video is a recap of some of the strategies we used to simplify and work our way through "A Night in Tunisia", once you've reviewed this information you can practice by playing along with this video (https://youtu.be/KBy0Y3I46do)
